Als Modell für seine 1919 komponierten und ungewohnt ernsthaft wirkenden fünf Nocturnes dienten Satie die berühmten, ebenso betitelten Stücke von John Field und Frédéric Chopin. Sind die Vorbilder im Hinblick auf Gehalt sowie in formaler Hinsicht erkennbar, so ist die Harmonik unverkennbar und originär die Saties. Die hier vorliegende Bearbeitung des dritten Nocturnes für ein Trio mit Gitarre kommt dem verträumten Charme der Komposition entgegen.
